We were founded by Tim Love in memory of his grandfather, who was a miner, to save what we can of our mining heritage in Area 7 (our local mining area). We are a non-profit making organisation that relies on donations of both artefacts and cash from people who are interested in local mining heritage.

Anyone can become a member of the group, not just ex-miners, and you can be as active as you wish (or just come and enjoy a chat and a cuppa!)

Your support will help to preserve the South Derbyshire mining heritage for future generations.

Our Collection...

Pictured below are just a few of the many items that the group has acquired. Everything is currently being the process of being catalogued.

If you have any local mining photographs we can arrange to digitally copy them and return the original to you so that we can preserve a copy (they will not be passed on to outside sources or made saleable without your permission)

WANTED - Do you have any of the following?

Mining related badges, certificate, clothing, documents, equipment, handbooks, lamps, manuals, reference books, plans or drawing, etc.

If so, please don't throw it away, let us have first refusal and help us to preserve the area's local heritage
