To go alongside our dedicated box of 'Coal mining in 10 objects' ready for schools to use, we now have a 5 lesson Scheme of Work aimed at local primary schools (created in partnership with Historic England). It is fully resourced and has a PowerPoint to guide teachers through the content. All the materials are fully editable, so that you can tailor them to suit the needs of your school/class. Many of the files are too large to put directly on here, but get in touch, and we can send them to you, or alternatively we have physical copies and a memory stick that you can borrow. 

We ran a training day (7th June 2023) to introduce this to a number of local primary school teachers, many of whom said that the resources provided gave them the confidence to be able to deliver a subject they had previously struggled to make accessible to their students. We plan to create more resources in the near future to supplement the ones we already have. If you would like to provide feedback on resources you would find useful, we'd be happy to hear new ideas.

Unfortunately we can no longer offer a visit by a miner.
