Exciting news: We have moved!!! We now meet at Sharpe's Pottery Museum, Tuesday 10am-12pm in Swadlincote Town Centre. Pop in and have a chat.

New: We will now dedicate every 3rd meeting of the month to a 'memories day'. This will be exclusively aimed at reminiscing, chatting and remembering. If this is something you would enjoy then come and see us on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, 10-12pm and browse some interesting artefacts that bring memories of time down the mine flooding back, or photographs of people you might know...

The group meets every Tuesday morning at Sharpe's Pottery Museum, Swadlincote, 10am-12pm.

"Our aim is to preserve and promote South Derbyshire's mining heritage"

The South Derbyshire Mining Preservation Group has a free permanent display of mining history at Conkers Discovery Centre. We also have a large collection of photographs and artifacts, which we regularly exhibit at local shows and events or lend to local schools to facilitate education about our mining history.

We rely entirely on donations to be able to keep running. If you would like to donate, please get in touch, or come and see our displays at one of the local events we attend.
